That one’s pretty damn good. You knocked it out of the park. – “Arthur Miller” in My Week with Marilyn
10 Reasons I love Marilyn Monroe.

1. She was actually real. She had problems. She spent a great deal of her childhood in orphanages and her mother lived in an asylum. If those aren’t problems, I don’t know what is.

2. From my knowledge, she was never mean. She was a kind and sensitive person.

3. She was incredibly insightful. She wrote poetry (I’m sure you can find some of it online) and all of her quotes are absolutely amazing.

4. She was stunningly beautiful. Need I say more?

5. She was confident, unique, and mysterious. There’s just something wonderful about her that you can’t exactly name.

6. Her fashion sense was absolutely perfect.

7. In a way, she was two people, which was part of her mystique, I think. One part of her was sweet and innocent Norma Jean, and the other part was the show stopping Marilyn.

8. She liked a variety of men. Her second husband, Joe DiMaggio was a young athlete, while her third husband, Arthur Miller, was an older author.

9. She was an incredibly talented actress and a wonderful singer. In the words of Sir Lawrence Olivier, “Marilyn was quite wonderful, the best of all.”

10. The main reason that I love Marilyn Monroe is that she represents a beautiful, simpler era of time; an era of innocence that seemed to leave too soon, before many could say goodbye. Unfortunately, I never even got to say hello.
